Billy Angel’s Reflections
As we reflect on this past Fourth of July—an occasion to honor the founding principles of our nation—it is essential to remember that liberty, justice, and unity are not merely words. They are enduring values that must be defended, even when the path forward is hard and the cost of courage is high.
I believe one should live life with honor and pride—to be brave and bold. For those law firms and lawyers who bent the knee and rejected the oath they took, let them live with their history of cowardice, appeasement, shame, and dishonor.
They will not be among us when we speak of our triumphs, our refusal to surrender, and our victories against the very forces they feared to face. We will raise a glass to our bravery, our resistance to intimidation, our unwavering resolve—and most of all, to our unity.
We stood together and fought as one—united in our defense of democracy, of freedom, and of the United States Constitution. We are many, but we are One. We are Unity.
Let these words from past voices guide our present convictions:
“As long as the world will last, there will be wrongs,
and if no man objects and no man rebels,
those wrongs will last forever.”
— Clarence Darrow (1857–1938)
“I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees.
I want to die a slave to principles, not to men.”
— Emiliano Zapata, Mexican Revolution (1910–1920)
“March on, do not tarry. To go forward is to move toward perfection.
March on, and fear not the thorns or the sharp stones on life’s path.”
— Kahlil Gibran (1883–1931)
“Don’t let the bastards grind you down.”
— General Joseph Stilwell (“Vinegar Joe”),
Commander of U.S. Forces in the Pacific Theater during WWII
In these challenging times, may we find strength in each other and in the shared values that bring us together. Let us continue to march forward—undaunted and united.
